While it is every parents right to wish that their new baby is a certain gender, it is sad to see wide spread gendercide (the systematic killing of members of a specific sex). In many cultures boys are valued more highly than girls. 1 in 6 couples in South Africa battles with infertility – and long for any healthy baby they could have.
Fairlady Magazine published an excellent and well worth reading article in the March 2015 edition ‘Why choosing the sex of your baby endangers women’.
