See you at Fertility Show Africa 2022 in July!

Fertility Show Africa (FSA) makes a welcome return in 2022 for a fully interactive two-day event that will feature a live expo at the Focus Rooms in Sandton, Johannesburg, on July 23 and 24, and will also incorporate an online component hosted on the Hopin event platform, allowing visitors from around the country, the African continent and the rest of the world to attend and participate – and at no cost.

Fertility Show Africa offers those struggling to conceive a unique opportunity to talk to some of the best specialists, embryologists, fertility nurses, psychologists, and wellness support experts. You can ask questions, find answers and gather all the information to begin your journey to parenthood – and this year, tickets are also complimentary.

The Medfem Fertility Clinic team will most certainly be there and we look forward to meeting you!

After a very successful Fertility Show Africa last year, it is great news that the 2022 Fertility Show Africa will be held in just a few weeks on 23 and 24 July 2022 – and this year the tickets are free.

It is proudly supported by IFAASA (Infertility Awareness Association of South Africa), SASREG (South African Society for Reproductive Medicine and Gynaecological Endoscopy) and Ferring Pharmaceuticals, as well as media partners Fertility Road, Europe’s first IVF magazine, and IVF Babble Africa which provides guidance, support and medical advice from trusted experts as well as real life stories and a TTC (Trying To Conceive) community.

Since the very first Fertility Show Africa was held three years ago, the Medfem Fertility Clinic team featured proudly among the leading organisations to support this important annual event. That is because the Medfem Fertility Clinic team believes in making world-class fertility treatments available for everyone, and it is our joy and commitment to give couples facing fertility challenges a positive outcome to their fertility journey.

In addition, Medfem Fertility Clinic is proud to be a supporter of IFAASA and pleased that our own Dr Antonio Rodrigues, a Reproductive Medicine Specialist and Director at Medfem Fertility Clinic, serves as a Non Executive Board Member of IFAASA. This non-profit organisation supports Southern Africans living with reproductive health issues through education, research and advocacy, and to educate the public about reproductive disease.

Driven by a team of South Africans who are passionate to build awareness and support of infertility, IFAASA aims to drive public and industry awareness and understanding of infertility, and to lobby for fair support and change and equal access to public and private sector treatment and shares resources that offer hope, insight, support and encouragement. You can learn more about IFAASA at ifaasa.co.za.

Furthermore, Medfem Fertility Clinic is also registered with SASREG and very proud of our own Dr Mandy Rodriques, resident clinical psychologist at Medfem, who is the SASREG Chairperson of Counselling.

Resources from FSA 2021

FSA 2021 was a great success, and more than 700 registrants, attendees and participants from 22 countries visited the show.

A key attraction was the Expert Talks covering a range of topics designed to inform and enlighten couples who are trying to start or grow their family. These were presented by a wide range of world-leading specialists, experts and clinicians, including both our Dr Antonio Rodrigues and Dr Mandy Rodriques.

Dr Tony highlighted trends that are driving an increase in the number of women who require assistance to achieve a pregnancy. You can read the article about “What Women Can Do About Age-related Infertility” here https://medfem.co.za/what-women-can-do-about-age-related-infertility/. He also explained some of the common reasons for growing rates of infertility and how the multipronged approach used at Medfem Fertility Clinic – along with our comprehensive range of advanced treatments – ensure our modern fertility patients receive cutting-edge care. You can read the article about “Cutting-Edge Care for Modern Fertility Patients” here.

Dr Mandy talked about the importance of mental health whilst trying to conceive against the background of the modern world. You can read the article here https://medfem.co.za/managing-stress-when-ttc-in-a-modern-world/. There was another very interesting talk by Dr Mandy entitled “Losing my DNA” and a panel discussion with her about donor disclosure and transparency – you can catch up on these topics here.
