Our team at Medfem Fertility Clinic always look forward to and wholeheartedly support the annual Fertility Show Africa, which takes place at the Kyalami Grand Prix and International Convention Centre in Johannesburg, South Africa, this Women’s Month on Saturday 5 August and Sunday 6 August 2023.

It is wonderful opportunity for couples who are struggling to build a family to meet a diverse range of fertility experts and to discover the extensive range of medical treatments available for the fertility challenges that are increasingly common in today’s modern world. We invite you to come and meet our team, along with many other experts, at this essential fertility show, and share below some of the highlights you can expect during the weekend-long show.

Fertility Show Africa (FSA) is the African continent’s first and only exhibition only show targeted at those trying to conceive and those on a journey to parenthood, including people trying to start or expand their family or those diagnosed with fertility problems, whether individuals, couples, singles or same sex couples.

The mission of the show is to break the silence around the fertility issues that more than 15 percent of South Africans face when it comes to building their families.

This year’s is the fourth edition of FSA and takes place takes place during Women’s Month on Saturday, August 5 and Sunday, August 6, at its new venue at the Kyalami Grand Prix Circuit and International Convention Centre.

Says Heidi Warricker, CEO of FSA: “We are delighted to make the move to the Kyalami Grand Prix and International Convention Centre. The venue has been completely revamped to include world class facilities and there is ample and affordable parking around the Convention Centre which is easily accessible in the business heart of Gauteng between Pretoria and Johannesburg. FSA growth plans include increasing the offering to encompass the whole fertility, pregnancy and parenthood journey and the venue can accommodate this future demand.”

Highlights of 2023

Those attending can engage with specialists and experts in a supportive and unobtrusive environment, making the show an invaluable resource for those looking to start or expand their family. Some of the world’s leading fertility experts will be taking part in Fertility Show Africa, creating a unique opportunity for you to meet some of the best specialists, embryologists, nurses, psychologists, social workers and fertility coaches, allowing you to ask questions, find answers and gather all the necessary information to support their journey to parenthood.

Visitors can meet and interact with top class fertility clinics; fertility doctors, clinicians and practitioners; donor, adoption and surrogacy agencies; advice groups; mental health practitioners; dieticians, nutritional consultants and wellness practitioners; holistic therapists; complementary and alternative therapy practitioners; financiers and legal advisors; and can also discover new and established brands and solutions supporting the fertility journey.

FSA will run alongside The Plant Powered Show (TPPS) – in Gauteng for the first time after successful runs in Cape Town – and FSA ticket holders get free entry into TPPS, which will be running at the same venue at the same time. Africa’s premier plant-based food, drink and conscious living show, TPPS promotes healthy eating and a plant-based diet which has been shown to increase fertility.

FSA is proudly supported by IFAASA (Infertility Awareness Association of South Africa) and SASREG (South African Society for Reproductive Medicine and Gynaecological Endoscopy), as well as media partners IVF Babble, which provides guidance, support and medical advice from trusted experts and real life stories for the TTC (trying to conceive) community; and Fertility Road, Europe’s first IVF magazine aimed at helping women and men on their path to parenthood. Discovery Health and MediFin join this year as sponsors of the Expert Talks zone.

In exciting news, IFAASA recently acquired an interest in FSA and IFAASA CEO, Saskia Williams, has been appointed event director of FSA. She will ensure the event retains a patient-centric approach as both FSA and IFAASA share the same mission to break the silence, create awareness and share information around reproductive health issues.

“I am so excited to be an official part of the FSA team and look forward to growing our shared vision of a show that encompasses the entire fertility journey, with the future introduction of Your Fertility Journey, Your Preggy Journey and Your Parenting Journey,” says Williams. “The parents-to-be remain our priority and we formulate every show around how best to provide them with relevant information relating to whatever part of the journey they are on. Mark your diaries, book your spot, bring your notebook and join us for two days of information, support and motivation, to help you on your fertility journey.”

Medfem Fertility Clinic is not only a long-standing supporter of IFAASA, but also passionate about the annual Fertility Show Africa, because during these two days, we can share with so many couples the encouraging news that infertility is a medical condition that can be treated.
During the show, a number of our team members have an opportunity to present the latest information during Expert Talks, speaking alongside a diverse range of fertility specialists, and also to answer your questions and concerns at the Q&A Sessions. Most importantly, we get to meet you in-person at the Expo area, where you can chat to us directly and we can show you some of the latest fertility and journey-to-parenthood solutions.
