Incredibly Grateful

Our little girl, Carli was born on the 2nd of March this year – just in time for Easter.
Looking back at our journey of the past couple of years, I came to realise that it wasn’t always easy, but it was definitely worth it. It was a long road filled with disappointment, challenges, obstacles, and fleeting moments of hope. But our determination to have a family of our own, as well as the love and support of our family and friends is what kept us going.
We went to Medfem, one of the best specialists in the field to guide us through the process, but even then we were never sure how our story would end. I still remember questioning Dr Rodrigues whether it was even worth putting this one embryo back in light of all our previous disappointments. His words were: “It only takes one to make a baby”. He never gave up, even when we did.

Consequently, we were very surprised to learn that the IVF was indeed a success, as it would have been our last try. At last we could substitute those familiar feelings of disappointment and despair with a deeper sense of happy anticipation. To this day I still find myself on occasion with tears in my eyes simply because we are just so incredibly grateful. To those that are confronted with infertility: I hope your dreams will be fulfilled.
